CQC Report: Minstead Trust Residential Care Home is 'Outstanding'! We were delighted to receive the results of the recent Care Quality Commission inspection of our Residential Service. And the results are outstanding! Minstead Trust’s residential care home supports adults with learning disabilities to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. CQC inspections look at whether a service is Safe; Caring; Effective; Responsive and Well-led. Minstead Trust has been rated as Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. The Inspector’s Report said that “People were consistently supported to achieve their goals and aspirations. Relatives and healthcare professionals told us Minstead Trust provided an outstanding platform to support students with their learning and development”The report also noted that “Staff had an empowering and empathetic attitude to support people and their personal development.”One relative said “Minstead Trust provides an exceptional level of care” The Care Quality Commission changed the inspection regime two years’ ago and now all services are rated as either Outstanding; Good, Requires Improvement or Inadequate. In the last month out of the 1,277 CQC inspections that took place across England and Wales just 2.5% of services were rated Outstanding. Commenting on the outcome of the inspection, Madeleine Durie the Trust’s Chief Executive said “We are delighted with the outstanding rating. Fewer than 2.5% of all services rated by the CQC last month achieved this standard. Our staff work very hard to ensure that the values of the Trust in putting the people we support first and working together as a community are at the heart of what we do. The outstanding rating is testament to the skill and commitment from the team.” Our residential team are indeed outstanding at assisting our service-users to develop new skills for everyday living, as well as improving their health and wellbeing, and exploring work skills. This works supports each individual to achieve greater independence and lead more fulfilled lives as active citizens in our local communities.
