Adinkra is a printed or stamped traditional cloth made by the Ashanti people in Ghana.  Adinkra (ah-DEENK-rah) symbols have been used in Ghana on clothes, walls, pottery and as logos since the early 1800’s. The symbols each have a special meaning, some over 100 years old.  Let African Activities share with you these symbols, talk about their meaning and you can then make your own cloth using our stamps or by making your own.

Junk Modelling Bring along an old milk bottle and turn it into an elephant, a bird, a mask or something even more extraordinary.
