A community donation has been used to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities in the New Forest.

New Milton Friends Group donated £279 to Minstead Trust to fund the purchase of a TV for the residents in one of the Trust’s supported living properties.

Minstead Trust is a charity that supports people with learning disabilities to achieve greater independence, lead fulfilled lives and live as full citizens in society.

The Trust supports nearly 200 people in Hampshire, Wiltshire, Southampton and Portsmouth. It offers people the opportunity to develop skills for work, skills for life and improve their health and wellbeing.

New Milton Friends Group is a voluntary run fundraising group, established to provide extra funding to local good causes in and around the town of New Milton on the south coast of Hampshire.

Madeleine Durie, Chief Executive of Minstead Trust said: ‘We are so delighted with this donation that has enabled us to purchase a new TV for the communal living room. It will be very popular with our supported living residents and allow them to live more fulfilling and independent lives.’
