Another Winter’s Tale

When: 28 Nov 2021

Two characters, eternally on the run, but from whom or what?

Sheltering from the storm outside, they share the tales of distant times and faraway lands, awaiting…

Who are they, what’s their story? Friends, innocents, showmen, or something a little more intriguing? Only time will tell…

A new theatre show, rich in original live music, for all audiences. Coming from the company that brought the acclaimed No Finer Life to Hanger Farm, before it went onto appear at The RSC and BBC Radio 4. It’s a journey through the shortest days, before the new life of Spring. It draws upon tales of deepest winter from Japan, Russia and across Europe, as well as those from nearer to home.

The show is devised by the company, with music from award-winning composer, Alastair Collingwood, and directed by Jenet Le Lacheur (Harry Potter & the Cursed Child, RSC).

The show is produced in partnership with Shoot First Theatre, who bring their accomplished puppetry and storytelling. It includes shadow puppets, hand puppets and a Kamishibai, the traditional Japanese street theatre. The stories could not be more diverse: from the joyful to the dark, the new and the familiar, all performed by the company of travelling strangers.

This is a family show and we’re saying the suitability is
8+ as it has a few darker moments.
