Confident and healthy: Kevan’s story

Kevan grew up in Gosport and has always lived with his mum Babs and other close family, and lots of rescue pets!

He went to Portsea School and a special needs school too.

He has always been a popular member of the community and helps out at the community adventure playground.

As an adult, Kevan now attends Minstead Trust’s day opportunities centre in Portsmouth. He is building up his confidence with a range of skills, including swimming. He was never keen on going in the water but joined the swimming group and is now a lot more confident.

Kevan now enjoys swimming, trampolining, action stations centre in the Historic Dockyards, being with friends and helping others.

It means a lot to him to be in the right environment, with his routines and his friends.

Kevan’s sister in law says that she does not know what he would do if it wasn’t for Minstead Trust – going to the day opportunities centre has been so good for his confidence.

Minstead Trust’s Portsmouth day opportunities are based at Warren Avenue in Portsmouth.
