Minstead Trust, a leading learning disabilities charity based in the heart of the New Forest, is offering a rare and fantastic opportunity for a Finance Trainee to join its experienced Central Services team. This is an entry-level position that would be perfect for anyone looking to begin a career in bookkeeping or accountancy.

The Trust is over thirty years old and has grown from humble beginnings to become an organisation of over 130 people delivering care to adults with wide-ranging care needs across three counties. It’s a fantastic, warm place to work and the work we do here changes lives.

We’re offering the opportunity to learn directly from the Finance Manager and the Finance Officer, gaining exposure to all elements of accounting for a small-to-medium sized organisation.

You will be extensively trained in accounts processing (including the use of Sage 50 Professional) and payroll, as well as other related systems. After a successful six-month probationary period, the organisation will support you through a relevant qualification (eg. AAT, ACCA, CIMA). As such we’re looking to invest in you for years to come.

The organisation is undergoing substantial growth both organically and by acquisition of new services. Our work in the Central Services department will enable us to deliver more at a higher standard as we put in place the systems and processes to facilitate all of these developments.

As there is a strong logical and numerical component to the role, a facility with numbers is essential. Whilst no specific experience is necessary and school leavers are very welcome, you must be able to demonstrate a strong academic record in maths, sciences or logical disciplines such as philosophy.

Starting salary of £18,818 rising to £19,890 on successful completion of six months’ probation.

Due to the nature of the this employment sector your application is subject to a successful Disclosure and Baring Service check (DBS)
