Minstead Trust is an established charity working with adults with learning disabilities.  We are now seeking a dynamic, committed and talented person to take on the role of managing our quality day service in Portsmouth.

Our trained staff support adults with learning disabilities access and engage in meaningful activities that develop outcomes based skills focused on health and independence. 

We are looking for someone with previous management experience as well as experience with Learning Disabilities to lead the service providing operational and strategic direction, ensure everything runs smoothly and cost-effectively on a day to day basis and develop and expand delivery within the city. You’ll ensure the individuals you support have personalised support programmes in place that enable them to develop and maintain outcome focused health and independence goals.

You should have strong leadership skills and experience of recruitment, be motivated, approachable and committed to providing equal opportunities and quality support to vulnerable adults.  You will be highly organised with excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise your workload. It is also important that you are able to adapt well to change and meet tight deadlines whilst delivering a quality service.

What we look for in our Service Managers:

  • Management qualification and experience of Learning Disability Services
  • PGCE or Level 5 diploma or NVQ in Health and Social Care (Desirable)
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Passionate for leading positive change
  • Respectful towards others
  • Empathetic, understanding and caring attitude
  • Drivers licence.
