Minstead Trust is a leading learning disabilities charity based in a fantastic location in the heart of the New Forest.  The Trust delivers independence training to adults with learning disabilities. 

We are looking for a personable, energetic maintenance operative who can strengthen our in-house team and help look after and develop our growing portfolio of properties.

Whilst the job is broad and could encompass any forms of maintenance and building- or grounds-related project work, demonstrable trade skills would be a significant advantage, particularly knowledge and experience of working with electrics and/or plumbing.

The successful candidate will have most or all of the following:

  • Knowledge of and ability in general maintenance and building work
  • Specialist skills such as plumbing, plastering, electrics
  • Experience of working within health and safety guidelines
  • The ability to work within organisational policies and procedures
  • Self-motivation and a willingness to work alone or as part of a team
  • Flexibility, reliability, trustworthiness and a calm, pleasant personality
  • An awareness of disability and/or experience of working with people with learning disabilities
