Location: New Forest Day Opportunities - Minstead Lodge

Hours: 22.5 hours per week – Monday to Wednesday

Salary: £10.25 per Hour

An exciting role to provide 1:1 support three days per week. You will be expected to encourage this person to integrate and engage in a wide range of activities within day opportunities.

Your passion and enthusiasm will enable this person, and others, to develop their skills and achieve their full potential for living independent lives. You will be expected to give person-centred support, guidance, encouragement and training across a range of goals in health, well-being, life skills or work-based skills as appropriate.

You will ensure that the personal, health and social care needs are met within the vision, aims and policies of Minstead Trust.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, deliver and develop training, activities, care and support according to outcomes-based development plans.
  • Assess, record and recognise the progress and achievements. Assess the support throughout the day, including personal care, effective communication, healthy eating and administering medication if required.
  • Provide guidance and direction to volunteers assisting in activity delivery.
  • To work both as part of a team and lone working.
  • Share skills, experience feeding back to the Day Opportunities team.
  • Assess and record risks on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain accurate and factual records.
  • Be a key instructor to a number of people we support. Undertake regular appraisals, contribute to the review and planning process ensuring they continue to focus on the outcomes and goals.
  • Build positive working relationships with family members, carers and professionals, promoting a positive profile of Minstead Trust and learning disabilities.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required.
  • Report resource requirements, issues and concerns to the line manager and work in a solution focused manner.
  • Provide a safe working environment for all, follow safe working practise to a high standard in compliance with organisational and regulatory policies and best practise.
  • Attend training made available by Minstead Trust ensuring mandatory training is completed.
  • Ensure that conduct within and outside the organisation does not conflict with the professional expectations of the Trust.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the Day Opportunities Manager providing they are appropriate.
