28 July 2023

Minstead’s Furzey Gardens is set to host the Shakespearian ‘Twelfth Night’ production from acclaimed West End cast of London Touring Players, as they return for the third consecutive year from 5th – 28th August.

Following two sell-out seasons that left audiences captivated, the much-awaited return of the talented theatre company promises another three-week run of music, magic, and love amidst the breathtaking beauty of Furzey Gardens.

London Touring Players, renowned for their stellar performances of ‘The Comedy of Errors’ and ‘The Importance of Being Earnest,’ are set to deliver a captivating outdoor production, complete with a live jazz band, that will undoubtedly leave audiences spellbound. Abbey Wright, who trained as an associate to Alan Rickman and Danny Boyle, directs the talented cast that boasts an impressive roster of actors from West End productions, Shakespeare’s Globe, the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Andrew Bentley, Estates Manager at Furzey Gardens commented: “Be prepared to be swept away by a heartwarming tale of love, mayhem, misrule, and mistaken identity. Against our picturesque backdrop, this open-air comedy promises to be a delightful night of romance, live music, and uproarious comedy that is perfect for the entire family – an ideal summer treat that you won’t want to miss. What’s more, the income these performances generate for our charity will help us continue to offer crucial support and training for people with learning disabilities. We are delighted to welcome London Touring Players back for a third year.’

Director Abbey Wright adds: “It is always a highlight in our summer calendar to return to Furzey Gardens which offers such a stunning backdrop to our alfresco stage! It’s more than just a venue for us as a theatrical team, the surrounding natural beauty allows the actors to fully immerse themselves in the narrative of the play, creating many a moment of theatrical brilliance.”

Families are welcome to bring chairs and blankets to sit on, low level accessories welcome as well as picnics to enjoy throughout the balmy evening shows!
