Caring for people and animals: Sue’s volunteer journey

Sue recently joined the Animal Care Team at Minstead Lodge, volunteering alongside the people we support to care for our goats, donkeys, and geese. She finds the experience incredibly rewarding, saying it’s a wonderful way to combine her love of animals with supporting others.

Sue says, ‘My passion is working with animals so it’s an absolute dream come true to volunteer at Minstead Lodge.

As an ex-teaching assistant, I thoroughly enjoy being able to help and support people with learning disabilities too and find it incredibly rewarding. I love working in a team, I’m getting fitter, meeting new friends and we all laugh together.

Who wouldn’t want to volunteer here?! It’s such a beautiful, positive place full of kind, happy and friendly people.’
