An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us in working within our friendly and dedicated Housing Related and Community Support Services around Christchurch.

Support Worker

Full time – 37.5 hours

Shift patterns: Shifts between Monday to Sunday 8am – 7pm

Flexible shifts, 365 days a year (incl. weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis)

Location: Christchurch and the surrounding areas

Salary: £12.25 per hour (Rising to £13.25 per hour subject to skills assessment after 6 months)

The Role:

  • To support individuals to meet their goals and outcomes in health, wellbeing, and independence
  • Assist individuals with their needs where required, whilst maintaining accurate records
  • To work as part of a team as well as lone working within the community providing 1:1 support
  • Work with allocated individuals as their keyworker
  • Adapt communication skills and care approach; to meet the needs of the people we support in a way that promotes dignity and respect
  • Support individuals with everyday tasks and activities of their choosing
  • Support people with complex needs and who may present with behaviours that challenge.

What are we looking for?

  • Motivated, honest, and approachable individuals who are great at building and nurturing relationships
  • Ability to stay calm if challenges arise
  • Experience of providing high levels of care and support to those with learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours that challenge
  • Confident when lone working
  • Aspirations to develop skills at support worker level and beyond!
  • UK Driving Licence with access to car

  • Due to the location of the role a UK Driving licence with access to a car for business use is essential
