New Forest Day Opportunities 1:1 Support Worker

Minstead, Near Lyndhurst, New Forest

Part time 18 hours per week – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30am- 4pm

Pro rata salary £11,466 per annum

Minstead Trust is a values-driven charity focused on supporting adults with learning disabilities across Dorset and Hampshire. This can be done through support to live in their own homes, learning new skills at day opportunities or receiving work training to move towards employment.

As a New Forest Day Opportunities Support worker, you’ll be providing individualised 1:1 support to two adults with learning disabilities in a range of activities. The role is instrumental in helping them to build skills, gain independence, and enjoy rich, fulfilling days.

The role:

  • Building meaningful, trusting relationships with the two individuals you’ll support
  • Encouraging engagement from crafts to gardening, performing arts and wellbeing
  • Working alongside instructors to plan personalised, engaging activities
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and self-expression

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and /or autism
  • Energy and enthusiasm
  • A positive, person-centred approach
  • Team spirit and strong communication skills
  • Experience of dealing with difficult or distressing situations in a calm, sensitive and sympathetic manner.
