Accounts Assistant – Fixed Term Contract (6 months)

 Minstead, Near Lyndhurst, New Forest

37.5 hours per week

 Salary: £24,500 to £26,500 per annum DOE

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play an integral part in the efficient running of financial operations. You will be responsible for the sales invoicing as well as the credit control for our subsidiary. This goes hand in hand with enduring the integrity of financial records and support the wider finance team. You’ll be a part of a welcoming, friendly team and a Trust that truly makes a difference; which can be rare to find!

In this role you will:

  • Process purchase ledger invoices for Minstead Trust and The Real Jam & Chutney Company accurately and on time. Review posting to ensure VAT has been treated correctly.
  • Process Sales Ledger invoices for The Real Jam & Chutney Company and ensure credit control processes are followed
  • Manage purchase ledger for both companies including reconciling supplier statements
  • Perform credit card reconciliations and support with month-end regular journals
  • Provide information to the Management Accountant and Financial Controller as required
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and charity regulations
  • Handle petty cash and bank drop-offs

What are we looking for:

  • Minimum GCSE in Maths and English level B or above
  • Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Good communication skills
  • AAT Level 3 preferred (but not essential)
  • Driving license (preferred due to the location)
