37.5 hours per week

 Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm

 Salary: £25,642.50 per annum

Our Vision at Minstead Trust is to live in a society where people with learning disabilities enjoy fulfilling lives of their own choosing.

We’re looking for a Ceramics Instructor to lead meaningful, hands-on sessions for adults with neuro diverse disabilities at New Forest Day Opportunities. This is more than just a teaching role — it’s a chance to help people express themselves, build confidence, and develop real-life skills through the power of clay.

You’ll be running engaging ceramics sessions in a fully equipped studio, guiding people in making beautiful, high-quality items — some of which are sold in our shops as part of our growing social enterprise. You’ll work closely with individuals and support staff to create a warm, inclusive and person-centred environment where creativity can thrive.

The role includes:

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging ceramics sessions in partnership with the people we support, encouraging creativity, participation, and achievement
  • Develop and maintain the ceramics studio, ensuring equipment, tools and materials are safe, clean, and well-organised
  • Work with the team to develop a range of products suitable for sale in Minstead Trust outlets, supporting our social enterprise aims
  • Provide direction and guidance to volunteers and support workers assisting in ceramics activity delivery
  • Assess and record individual progress and outcomes on Nourish, recognising achievements and identifying next steps
  • Maintain accurate, timely records and reports in line with organisational expectations
  • Identify and manage risks in a proactive and positive way to ensure the safety of all participants
  • Support transportation of people we support when required, including driving a minibus.

What are we looking for:

  • Experience in delivering structured creative sessions, particularly ceramics, to adults or community groups
  • The ability to inspire, teach and support adults with learning disabilities
  • An advocate for inclusion, independence and opportunity for all
  • Great people skills and a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Someone with a full driving licence (essential for this role).

What benefits can we offer you?

  • 25 days, plus Bank Holidays
  • Refer-a-Friend scheme worth £750!
  • A Celebration Day’s Leave for Your Birthday
  • Death in Service Insurance
  • Company Pension
  • An easy to access Health Care Scheme
  • Cycle to Work
  • Free Parking on-site
  • Blue Light Card Eligibility
  • Furzey Gardens Membership
  • Hanger Farm Membership
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Pay
  • Company Sick Pay
