Day Opportunities Nursery Instructor
Part Time – 15 hours per week (Thursday and Friday 08:30 – 16:30)
Salary: £10,257 per annum (FTE £25,642.50)

We’re looking for a vibrant, caring, and hands-on Nursery & Horticulture Instructor to join our team 2 days a week at the magical Furzey Gardens. This is more than just a gardening role – it’s a chance to share your skills, inspire others, and help adults with learning disabilities and/or autism develop their independence, confidence, and abilities through engaging, outcomes-based horticulture activities.
The role:
- Be responsible for planning and delivering fun, purposeful sessions in nursery work and horticulture
- Supporting individuals in meaningful activities like planting, composting and plant care
- Helping supporting individuals to work towards their goals and celebrate their achievements
- Work closely with the Day Opportunities and Furzey Gardens team which are made up of staff and volunteers
- Promoting independence, inclusion and well-being every step of the way
- Provide guidance and direction to volunteers and 1-1 support workers assisting in activity delivery.
- Build positive working relationships with family members, carers and other professionals as
required, promoting a positive profile of Minstead Trust and learning disabilities.
What are we looking for?
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities
- Confident leading group activities and sharing your knowledge
- Have a background or passion for gardening, nursery work or horticulture.
