Minstead Trust is a very special, supportive, creative, comfortable and welcoming organisation where I’ve made a lot of friends and to whom I’ve thoroughly enjoyed donating just a few hours of my time one evening a month as a volunteer. Volunteering is something I’ve been passionate about since I was in my 20s (and I’m now 50!) and it’s something I think more people should get involved with from as early an age as possible. Not only is it community spirited – helping to bring people together and understand each other more – but you also get as much out of it as a volunteer as those people do who you help and support!
Jason is great company and has really grown in confidence since he’s been with Minstead Trust. We’ve had lots of fun doing the many activities that Jason has chosen over the years including visiting Sprinkles for ice creams and hot chocolates, having a cheeky pint of fruit cider down the pub (one of Jason’s favourite evenings out), playing pool, going for walks, grabbing a hot dog at the German Christmas market… the list goes on. We’ve even been to The Mayflower Theatre to see a musical! What’s not to love!
