‘I have been using the facilities of Hanger Farm for quite a number of years, either for shows, meeting friends for coffee or attending various events that have been held there. I have also introduced friends to Hanger Farm Arts Centre who have also enjoyed shows there. As a community space, Hanger Farm Arts Centre accommodates entertainment for all, together with friendliness and helpfulness. Over the years I have seen a great improvement in the way that people with learning disabilities are included and how they are supported. I know the people the Trust supports who work and train in the café enjoy taking customer orders for their teas and coffees, everyone always look happy and confident serving people. On a number of Wednesday mornings I have met a friend there for a coffee, when it also happens to be when the drama group have their tea break. The drama group are all very excited and proud of the work they have achieved. It’s lovely to see them looking so satisfied.
Both my husband and I are happy to have pledged a Gift in our Wills to Minstead Trust, we know it will help people with learning disabilities to develop and achieve a happier and more content life. I feel it is so very important that people with learning disabilities are respected and treated correctly.’
