A trustee for Minstead Trust a charity who supports adults with learning disabilities

I was born and brought up in Brecon, in Mid Wales. After graduating from Loughborough University, I qualified as a chartered Librarian and worked for many years for Vickers PLC as head of their Technical Library and later as Head of Marketing. I then moved to work at Southampton Solent University and I enjoyed a very varied and enjoyable career there. My role for the last 10 years was as Dean of the Learning and Information Service managing a team of over 200 staff, supporting students in areas such as IT, employability, learning technologies, library services and student services. I retired from full time work in 2016 and was delighted to be appointed as a Trustee at Minstead Trust.

I enjoy meeting with staff, students, families and carers to understand fully the work of the Trust and the challenges it faces so that I am able to help it to develop and grow. I have lived in the New Forest for over 30 years and I am married with two adult sons.
