Minstead Trust is building back positively from the pandemic and responding to the challenges faced by people with learning disabilities as lockdown eases.

This work will be led by Adam Dodd as acting CEO over the coming months, after current Chief Executive Madeleine Durie announced her intention to move on to new challenges.

Over the last eight years, Madeleine has led Minstead Trust in transforming the lives of many people with learning disabilities as the Trust has expanded to support more than 200 people across Hampshire.

Changes have included expansion in the Trust’s supported living portfolio, opening a day opportunities centre in Portsmouth and taking on the management of Furzey Gardens and Hanger Farm Arts Centre.

Madeleine has successfully steered the charity through the challenges of the Covid pandemic, and the task of leading the initial stages of the road to recovery now falls to Adam Dodd, currently the Trust’s Director of Finance and Central Services. Adam is well placed to offer the continuity and expertise needed to embrace the challenges and opportunities for the charity as Covid restrictions lift.

Elizabeth Selby, Minstead Trust Chair of Trustees, said: ‘Madeleine has achieved incredible success by working closely with staff, volunteers, families and supporters whilst always holding the values and ethos of the Trust at the heart of what we do.

‘Her eight years at the helm have been a time of expansion and achievement for the Trust and Madeleine’s work has helped us to a point where we are helping more people than ever before.

‘She has helped steer us through some very challenging times, not least during this past year, and we wish her all the best in her new role.

We are delighted that Adam will be able to ensure that the excellent progress of the Trust will continue in this transition period ’

Madeleine will be taking up her new role as CEO of Hampshire-wide youth charity, Youth Options in May following the retirement of their current CEO, Mark Dixon.

Minstead Trust is now seeking a new permanent Chief Executive, find out more or apply here.
