When: 20 Apr 2023

Hot Poets Liv Torc and Chris Redmond are cutting through the doom and despair of environmental catastrophe, bringing art and climate science together to imagine a better and possible future.
The workshop, 15:00 to 17:00, is open to beginners and poets of ages 16 to 100. Come and learn how to release your genius poet and help make a sensational poem for the evening performance.
The evening performance will take you into the world we must all inhabit in coming years and give you the courage to be part of making things better.
The films and poems in the show were written and performed by 12 of the UK and Africa’s top Spoken Word Artists, working with scientists, climate educators and engineers from leading environmental organisations and charities across the world.
Chris and Liv will also share the amazing story of Hot Poets, a project that started in a muddy field in Glastonbury and has travelled to COP26 in Glasgow, TEDxLondon, the Southbank, WOMAD, COP27 in Egypt and a UN brainstorming session in Botswana.
In 2022 the UNFCCC (United Nations Climate Change) nominated Liv and Chris, along with 50 other innovative thinkers worldwide to join the Resilience Frontier Initiative, who work together to vision a desirable climate-resilient future for the planet.
Hopeful, accessible, powerful and scientifically surprising – Hot Poets is a testament to the power of poetry to change the world.
The workshop runs from 3pm to 5pm
