Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a friendly and approachable individual to join our kitchen garden team!

Minstead Lodge is home to our New Forest Day Opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, at the heart of which is a fabulous walled Kitchen Garden. Offering horticultural training opportunities and wellbeing sessions, our small but busy garden team work directly with the people we support, growing a variety of fruit, vegetables and cut flowers.

From seeding and propagation to planting, pruning, weeding and watering there is always work to be getting on with and the team would welcome extra hands at the start of another busy gardening year!

This role would ideally suit someone who enjoys being outside (often in all weather!), is practical and has a passion for gardening and growing. As a support role, it also requires someone who is friendly, kind and approachable and who enjoys engaging with people.

Availability:

As a guide, we would suggest a minimum of 2-3 hours to fit in with either a morning or afternoon session, 9:45am -1pm / 2pm – 4pm, Monday – Friday.
