‘Furzey Gardens, part of Minstead Trust is a special place for me and my family. Since first going there on a weekend trip to the New Forest when I lived in Sussex, at the time I was pregnant with my first child, to many years later becoming a volunteer there. My late mother and father also used to visit with friends, and I would bring Mum to the gardens as she loved plants and gardening. She was always happy to be there, to stop and chat with the adults with learning disabilities who were working to keep the gardens looking wonderful. And as my children grew I would visit with them, finding the fairy doors and enjoying the outdoors and the friendliness of Furzey. We have lots of lovely memories and photos of our visits.
I wanted to make a gift in my Will to the Trust, with a request that the money will be spent at Furzey because of that special connection I have with the people and the place. I know that Minstead Trust will spend my legacy gift in the best possible way to help the people supported by the Trust and to keep its special places like Furzey maintained for the future for more people to enjoy.
Making a Will does not need to be difficult or complicated, and once it is done, it is a weight off your shoulders, and I was pleased to include Minstead Trust to benefit as well as taking care of dependents and family.’
