Minstead Trust is delighted to announce that it has taken over the management of Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton. The Arts Centre was previously managed by Totton College, run by Nacro.

Minstead’s Chief Executive Officer, Madeleine Durie said:

“We are really excited about this opportunity to continue to develop the Arts Centre, delivering a high quality and varied arts programme, as well as showcasing accessible arts alongside mainstream entertainment at affordable prices, which we hope will bring people of all abilities together in a shared love of the arts.”

Maxine Room, Principal of Totton College said:

“We are delighted Minstead Trust will be managing Hanger Farm Arts Centre moving forward. We recognise the expertise within Minstead Trust and we feel confident they will be able to enhance the visitor experience and continue to grow the business.  We wish them well in their future endeavours.”

Minstead Trust has a strong background in running public venues, especially at Furzey Gardens, and a long tradition of providing arts related programmes and exhibitions over many years, including exhibitions and performances with both mainstream and specialist artists.

“We are particularly looking forward to working with those currently involved in Hanger Farm Arts Centre and forging new partnerships with other local groups to continue the proud traditions of the Centre as well as bringing a new flavour and interest to the community”, explained CEO Madeleine Durie.

Some of the enhancements the Trust have planned at the Arts Centre include opening the café during the day to serve hot drinks, cakes and light lunches providing supported employment and training opportunities for people with learning disabilities to learn catering and retail skills; introduce relaxed film performances suitable for people with autism and special needs and establishing a Theatre group for people with learning disabilities.  All of this will be alongside continuing the existing programme of theatre, music, art and comedy that Hanger Farm Arts Centre is known for.

The new season’s brochure will be published shortly and is available online now at www.HangerFarm.co.uk
