Hanger Farm unveils its autumn season full of affordable entertainment

Autumn is on the horizon and Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton has announced a fantastic variety of shows for a cosy night out. From tribute acts and theatre shows to cracking comedy and family fun performances, there is entertainment for everyone.

This autumn there are dozens of affordable and accessible shows on offer, including:

  • Painted Sky, 28 Sep – Folk duo whose songs are characterised by honest vocals and timeless storytelling, underpinned by driving rhythms
  • The Museum of Marvellous Things, 27 Oct – A fun-filled family show based on the picture book by Kristina Stephenson
  • Jo Caulfield, 27 Oct – Hot on the heels of her sell-out Edinburgh Fringe run, Jo’s show is packed with brilliant routines and fantastically embarrassing stories
  • The Haunting, 9 Nov – A gripping adaptation of some of Charles Dickens’ most haunting works
  • Chasing Mumford – The Mumford & Sons Experience, 25 Nov – A 5-piece fully live band of multi-instrumentalists with beautiful 5-part live vocal harmonies

Kyle Maxwell, Hanger Farm Arts Centre manager, said:

‘Prepare to be captivated by the diverse range of unforgettable experiences this autumn with our array of affordable shows that cater to every taste.

‘We are also excited to announce our newest venture at Hanger Farm, The Songwriter’s Gallery. Each month we will feature emerging and local musicians in an intimate setting, so head over to our website to see which talented artists we have coming up.’

The popular local venue is based in West Totton with free parking and boasts a café bar which is now open Tuesday to Friday between 10am to 3pm and during show evenings. After a difficult time during the pandemic, Hanger Farm is now thriving – welcoming more audience members than ever in the last year.

The venue has also recently launched its membership scheme, which offers discounts, competitions and free drinks for members at an introductory rate of £10 for the first 12 months.

Hanger Farm Arts Centre is run by local charity Minstead Trust and helps people with learning disabilities learn skills for work in the café and behind the scenes in the theatre. The Trust supports over 300 people along the south coast from Poole to Portsmouth, helping them to live more independent and fulfilling lives.
