An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us with working within our friendly and dedicated Supported Living Service located in Portsmouth.

Support Worker – 37.5 hours per week- Portsmouth (and the surrounding areas)

Flexible shifts over a 24/7 week, 365 days a year (Incl. weekends, bank holiday’s and sleep in shifts on a rota basis)

Salary – £11.50 per hour rising to £12.50 per hour

As a Support Worker, you’ll be engaging directly with those we support, inspiring fun and creativity whilst encouraging independence and allowing individuals to live, happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.

The role:

  • To support individuals to meet their goals and outcomes in health, well-being and independence
  • Assist individuals with their personal, social and healthcare needs as required whilst maintaining accurate records
  • To work as part of a team as well as lone working within the community as needed
  • Work with allocated individuals as their key worker
  • Interact and communicate with the people you support in a way that promotes dignity and respect
  • Assisting individuals to attend university and complete education
  • Assisting individuals in completing day-to-day household tasks including cleaning and food shopping
  • Support individuals with everyday tasks as required.

What are we looking for?

  • Motivated, honest and approachable individuals who are great at building and nurturing relationships.
  • Experience in providing high levels of care and support to those with learning disabilities in a social care setting.
  • Aspirations to develop skills at the support worker level and beyond!
  • Flexibility to work shifts 24/7, 365 days a year including weekends and bank holidays as well as sleep in shifts on a rota basis.
  • Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care is desirable but training will be provided.
  • A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential (in-work travel paid).
  • Good verbal communication skills
