You can make a huge difference to our future
Many people choose to leave a gift in their Will to help support charities into the future. Gifts in Wills do not have to be someone’s entire Estate or large amounts, modest gifts make a big difference.
Gifts in Wills are an important part of how Minstead Trust is funded and you can support us this way too. When you make or amend your Will, as well as providing for your loved ones, you can also choose to help causes that you love and care about. We hope that we’re part of this.
Your gift will be a future legacy to help the people we support now and in the future to live independent lives and have the help they need to achieve their potential. It could help all aspects of our work, such as in one of our social enterprises like Furzey Gardens.
Here are some of the ways you can leave a gift in your Will:
Free online Will
To help our supporters remember us we work with Make a Will Online. They provide solicitor-checked simple wills for our supporters here. Each of their wills is checked by a qualified solicitor. If you have more complex legal needs a simple will may not be suitable for you.
Alternatively you can see a solicitor
If you have an existing relationship with a solicitor please contact them to ask for your Will to be updated to include a gift to us.
You can search for a solicitor on the Solicitors Regulation Authority website here. Or here are a couple of local firms that may be able to help you:
Parker Bullen Solicitors provide Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration who are offering a discount on some fees for supporters of Minstead Trust, and Wills and Trusts Legal Solutions Ltd who have Estate Planning specialists.
Please ensure whichever firm you choose, whether in person or online, they are right for your needs as Minstead Trust is not able to make any recommendation.
If you have complex legal needs or a large or complicated estate e.g. trust income, property overseas, or dependent relatives, you should speak to a specialist solicitor. If you are on strong medication or have concerns around your mental capacity, you should discuss with a solicitor face-to-face. If your estate will be subject to inheritance tax (see here), you should also speak to a solicitor.
Our full charity details are: “Minstead Trust” charity number 1053319 and our registered office is at “Minstead Lodge, Seaman’s Lane, Minstead, SO43 7FT”.

When you make a Will or an amendment to an existing Will, you should seek your own professional advice. And if you want to leave a gift in your Will to us or any charity you should tell the professional adviser of your intentions, and let them know the charity or charities name(s), address(es) and charity number(s).
