The Step Up For Work programme has been running in the New Forest since 2018.

It has seen dozens of people attend its workshops on employment skills and over 20 people have undertaken work placements, with three going on to paid employment.

The workshops are run at Minstead Lodge, home of Minstead Trust, by the Job Opportunities Mentor and most work placements take place at Minstead Trust’s social enterprises. These are Furzey Gardens, Hanger Farm Arts Centre and Minstead Lodge conference and events venue.

I work at Paulton’s Park in the restaurant, it’s going really brilliant. I do it Friday and Sunday and it is my first ever paid job.
